Root Cause Analysis

The chunked-encoding-premature-close error occurs due to a runtime incompatibility between Next.js and Railway's container limits. Specifically, when Next.js attempts to stream responses using chunked encoding, the premature closure of the connection can happen if the container's memory or CPU limits are exceeded, causing the Node.js process to terminate abruptly. This mismatch in lifecycle management between Next.js and Railway's container orchestration leads to the error.

● Configuration & Code Resolution

To fix this issue, update the `next.config.js` file to include the following configuration:
module.exports = {
  //... existing configurations...
  experimental: {
    chunkedResponse: false
  }
};
Additionally, ensure that your Railway project's container resources are adequately provisioned to handle the expected load. You can adjust these settings in your `railway.yaml` file:
services:
  web:
    #... other configurations...
    resources:
      cpu: 512
      memory: 1024
