The database pool exhaustion edge occurs due to a mismatch between the Next.js application's database connection lifecycle and the Railway platform's container limits. Specifically, when the Next.js application experiences a surge in requests, it attempts to establish multiple database connections concurrently, exceeding the default connection pool size. This leads to a situation where the database pool is exhausted, causing subsequent requests to fail. Furthermore, Railway's container limits impose restrictions on the number of concurrent connections, exacerbating the issue.
