2023-02-20T14:30:00.000Z	1234567890	ERROR	Uncaught exception: 'MemoryLimitExceeded'

Root Cause Analysis

The error occurs due to Nuxt's server-side rendering (SSR) mechanism, which can lead to high memory usage when dealing with large amounts of data or complex computations. When deployed on AWS Lambda, the default memory limit of 128MB can be easily exceeded, causing the function to timeout or crash. This incompatibility arises from the fact that Nuxt is designed to run on traditional servers, whereas AWS Lambda is a serverless platform with limited resources.

● Configuration & Code Resolution

To fix this issue, update the `nuxt.config.js` file to include the following configuration:
module.exports = {
  //... existing config...
  render: {
    compressor: false,
  },
  serverMiddleware: [
    //... existing middleware...
  ],
+  awsLambda: {
+    memorySize: 512,
+    timeout: 30,
+  },
}
And update the `serverless.yml` file to include the following configuration:
functions:
  nuxt:
    handler: index.handler
    events:
      - http:
          path: '/*'
          method: 'get'
    runtime: nodejs14.x
+    memorySize: 512
+    timeout: 30

Verification & Build Command

Run the following command to verify the resolution: `serverless deploy && serverless invoke --function nuxt --data '{}'`
